10 Months Later. Here's Where I Am

It's hard to believe it's been 10 months since my accident. It's been quite a journey. I went from the trauma unit to an acute care hospital, connected to more life support machines than I could count. One by one, I was able to come off each machine until I was finally discharged at the end of December. When I got home, I spent about a month in bed. I couldn't do much for myself and had to slowly rebuild my strength. I started going to the gym once a week, and after a couple of months I was finally able to get a caretaker who could take me two or three times a week. That's when I really started making progress. But recovery hasn't been a straight line. My amputated leg had complication after complication, and the wounds wouldn't heal for months. Even though I received my prosthetic leg on February 10, I couldn't safely wear it until the very end of April because the wounds wouldn't close. Just when I started walking with my prosthetic at the gym, I ...

The Seven Levels of Awareness: Elevate Your Consciousness & Transform Your Life

Have you ever felt like you’re meant for something more but aren’t quite sure what’s holding you back? Or perhaps you’ve noticed patterns in your life—cycles of struggle, breakthrough, and growth—that seem to repeat? The key to understanding and transcending these experiences lies in awareness.

Awareness is the foundation of transformation. It shapes how we perceive reality, make decisions, and manifest our desires. The Seven Levels of Awareness offer a roadmap for personal evolution, revealing how we move from a state of survival and fear to one of empowerment, purpose, and spiritual enlightenment.

As a Master Life Coach and Spiritual Coach, I’ve seen firsthand how shifting awareness can unlock deeper fulfillment, abundance, and freedom. Whether you’re seeking to break free from limitations, strengthen your intuition, or step into your highest potential, understanding these levels will help you navigate your journey with clarity and intention.

In this blog, we’ll explore each stage of awareness, how it impacts your thoughts and actions, and—most importantly—how you can consciously ascend to higher levels of consciousness. Because once you elevate your awareness, you elevate everything in your life.

Are you ready to awaken to your fullest potential? Let’s begin.

Levels of Awareness: A Journey of Self-Discovery

The concept of "levels of awareness" is a cornerstone of many spiritual and personal development traditions. While there's no single, universally accepted list, it generally refers to stages of consciousness or self-understanding we may progress through. A common framework often outlines seven stages:

  1. Survival Consciousness:

    • Focus: Basic needs, physical safety, and immediate survival.
    • Characteristics: Driven by fear and instinct; limited awareness beyond the present moment.
  2. Relationship Consciousness:

    • Focus: Connection with others, belonging, and seeking acceptance.
    • Characteristics: Emphasis on social bonds; desire for approval; concern for how others perceive them.
  3. Self-Esteem Consciousness:

    • Focus: Personal achievements, recognition, and building self-worth.
    • Characteristics: Seeking validation from external sources; striving for success and status.
  4. Transformation Consciousness:

    • Focus: Introspection, self-discovery, and personal growth.
    • Characteristics: Questioning beliefs and values; seeking deeper meaning and purpose; a desire for change.
  5. Integration Consciousness:

    • Focus: Aligning actions with values, authenticity, and inner harmony.
    • Characteristics: Living with integrity; integrating different aspects of oneself; striving for balance.
  6. Universal Consciousness:

    • Focus: Expanding awareness beyond the self; empathy and compassion.
    • Characteristics: Deep connection to humanity and the world; a sense of oneness; a desire to make a positive impact.
  7. Enlightened Consciousness:

    • Focus: Spiritual awakening, transcendence, and a profound connection to the universe.
    • Characteristics: Inner peace, wisdom, and a sense of unity with all existence.

Important Considerations:

  • Not a Linear Progression: Individuals may not move through these levels in a strict, linear sequence. They may experience aspects of different levels at various times.
  • Fluidity and Overlap: The boundaries between levels can be fluid, and there can be overlap between them.
  • Personal Interpretation: The specific characteristics and interpretations of these levels may vary depending on the particular tradition or teacher.

Understanding these levels of awareness can be a valuable tool for self-reflection and personal growth. By recognizing where you are on the spectrum, you can gain insights into your motivations, values, and potential for further development.

Walking Through Fear While My Life Is Still Unstable

Walking Through Fear Anyway: When Survival Becomes a Daily Choice I’m at risk of losing my housing right now. That sentence alone feels surreal to write, but it’s my reality. I’ve already survived things most people only ever read about. A catastrophic accident. A medically induced coma. An amputation. Metal now holding parts of my body together—including my vertebrae, and my left leg from my knee to my ankle. I’m still learning what all of this means in real time, because even now, no one has fully explained every part of what happened to me. I also don’t remember the accident itself. Not because I’m avoiding it—but because my mind shut it out. The trauma was so severe, and my body was so critically compromised, that everything went into survival shutdown. I had kidney failure and heart failure. My body was shutting down, and my brain shut down with it. What I do remember is the day. I remember my thought process clearly in the beginning. I remember thinking I wasn’t in a...

I Didn’t Ask for This: My Journey After a Life-Changing Accident

I recently shared a post asking for support during a very difficult time in my life, and I received some comments calling me a "beggar" or accusing me of "money begging." I want to clarify something: I am not begging. I am asking for help while I try to survive an unexpected and life-altering situation. There is no obligation for anyone to donate. People are free to scroll past, say no, or simply wish me well. But it's incredibly hurtful when people judge a situation they haven't lived. I was in a catastrophic accident that was not my fault, and it permanently changed my life. I didn't ask to lose my leg. I didn't ask to spend four months in the hospital. I didn't ask for my body to be permanently altered, my car to be totaled, or my ability to work and support myself to be taken away. This didn't happen gradually or by choice. It happened in an instant, and it has taken away my health, my independence, and my ability to support myself in the...
