I Wanted to Be in the Best Shape of My Life at 60. Then I Lost My Leg.

Before my accident, I kept saying the same thing to myself: I want to be in the best shape of my life when I turn 60. I meant it. I was hiking, walking, going to the gym. I was building strength in my body and imagining a future where I kept getting stronger, not weaker. Then the accident happened. I was still 59. I turned 60 in a hospital bed. I lost a leg. I fractured my other leg in multiple places. I broke ribs. I had vertebrae injuries. My body went into heart and kidney failure. Pain became constant, not occasional. Everything I thought I was building… was suddenly gone. And for a long time, I couldn’t understand something: If I was focusing on health, strength, and vitality… how did I end up here? I used to think maybe I did something wrong. Maybe I thought wrong. Maybe I “manifested” the wrong thing. But I’m starting to see something different now. Life isn’t a formula where good thoughts guarantee safe outcomes. Bodies exist in a world where accidents happen, s...

The Determined Walk: From Europe's Catwalks to Dream Destinations

The Determined Walk: From Europe's Catwalks to Dream Destinations

Have you ever dreamt of something so fiercely, you were willing to chase it across continents? That's exactly what I did as a young modeling hopeful, venturing to Europe with a heart full of ambition and a pocketful of uncertainty. Success wasn't guaranteed, but I knew one thing for sure: inaction was the enemy of progress.

Every day, I embraced the power of taking action. Even when my agency wasn't landing me the jobs I craved, I refused to be discouraged. This wasn't a dead end, just a detour. Intuition, a powerful force even back then, whispered that consistent effort would create a ripple effect. I believed that by putting out positive energy, the universe would reciprocate.

So, I took matters into my own hands. Ditching the traditional route, I bypassed the "front door" and mailed my comp card directly to the factories behind the fashion lines I admired. This bold move unlocked opportunities as a fit model for iconic brands like Raffaella Curiel, Montana, Ungaro, Thierry Mugler, Calagan and Gucci. My body became the prototype, gracing the pages of the first lookbooks and strutting down runways internationally.

This wasn't just about perseverance; it was about unwavering self-belief. Even when my agency championed other models, I held onto the conviction that my efforts and positive energy would yield results. The message is clear: belief in yourself is the cornerstone of achievement.

My efforts and unwavering spirit eventually turned the tide. The constant hustle, the runway appearances, and the campaigns I booked through direct action built a name for me. Designers began to request me specifically, my phone buzzed with casting calls, and I became a highly sought-after runway model. This wasn't just European recognition; my reputation transcended borders. The culmination of all this relentless drive? Landing a coveted agency representation with Elite Model Management, a powerhouse agency that solidified my status as a force in the modeling world. It was a testament to the transformative power of action and unwavering belief.

My journey wasn't confined to the runway. My agencies in Switzerland and Germany saw my potential for print modeling as well. They booked me for countless campaigns featuring breathtaking locations around the world. Imagine posing for swimsuits against the turquoise waters of the Seychelles, showcasing resort wear amidst the lush greenery of the Maldives, or capturing the essence of beach chic in sun-drenched Key West. These shoots were a testament to the power of taking action – they allowed me to experience the world while showcasing my talents.

This journey also revealed the power of action as a form of manifestation. Every step forward, every proactive decision, propelled me closer to my goals.

Mindset, however, is more than just positive thinking. It's a laser focus on what you desire, not what you fear. Surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals who share your vision and passion fuels your journey. But be discerning. Uplifting friends is crucial, but don't become a one-man cheerleader for those unwilling to match your drive. Sometimes, letting go and finding new allies, those on the same energetic wavelength, is the wiser path.

Clarity often emerges from action itself. Remember the saying, "the squeaky wheel gets the grease"? In today's world of overflowing information and social media noise, you have to be the one shouting from the rooftops. The more visible you are, the greater your chances of being seen and heard.

Giving Back: Shaping the Next Generation

My success didn't go unnoticed. Elite Model Management, the prestigious agency I eventually signed with, recognized the fire and dedication I brought to the runway. This recognition turned into an incredible opportunity – they entrusted me with training their models for the Elite Model Look of the Year contest. Here, I came full circle, passing on the tricks of the trade I'd learned through relentless effort – the art of the confident walk, the power of presence, and the unwavering belief that would propel them towards their own dreams.

So, take action, believe fiercely, and curate your circle wisely. Remember, the path to your dreams unfolds with every step you take.

Walking Through Fear While My Life Is Still Unstable

Walking Through Fear Anyway: When Survival Becomes a Daily Choice I’m at risk of losing my housing right now. That sentence alone feels surreal to write, but it’s my reality. I’ve already survived things most people only ever read about. A catastrophic accident. A medically induced coma. An amputation. Metal now holding parts of my body together—including my vertebrae, and my left leg from my knee to my ankle. I’m still learning what all of this means in real time, because even now, no one has fully explained every part of what happened to me. I also don’t remember the accident itself. Not because I’m avoiding it—but because my mind shut it out. The trauma was so severe, and my body was so critically compromised, that everything went into survival shutdown. I had kidney failure and heart failure. My body was shutting down, and my brain shut down with it. What I do remember is the day. I remember my thought process clearly in the beginning. I remember thinking I wasn’t in a...

I fiercely protect my energy — and let me tell you why.

I fiercely protect my energy — and let me tell you why. For most of my life, I’ve been the type of person people could count on. A good person. Someone who would show up, give, listen, and hold space. But when you’re wired like that, people often mistake it for weakness. Instead of honoring it, they take advantage. They lean on it. They drain it. I call them time bandits, energy thieves, and soul snatchers — people who see your kindness as an open door to take, take, and take some more. And when you don’t have boundaries, they will absolutely drain you. And for me, being an empath only intensified that experience. I feel things deeply. I absorb the emotions, chaos, and energy of the people around me. At first, I didn’t even realize it wasn’t mine. I carried other people’s burdens like they were my own. And when it got too heavy, when the overload became unbearable, I didn’t have tools to release it. So I numbed. I distracted myself. I tried to bury it. But here’s the truth: a lo...

When Trauma Breaks Your Reality, You Start Questioning Everything

I came across a quote recently that stopped me in my tracks: “Quantum physics is where they hide the scientific proof of spirituality.” And honestly? After everything I’ve survived, that line hit differently. A few years ago, I probably would have read that quote and simply thought it sounded interesting. But trauma has a way of stripping life down to its rawest truths. After my stroke… after my accident… after losing a limb and watching my entire identity collapse in front of me… I started questioning everything I thought I knew about healing, reality, energy, and what it truly means to survive. Because when your body experiences extreme trauma, you realize very quickly that healing is not just physical. It’s emotional. Mental. Energetic. Spiritual. Science is finally catching up to what ancient spiritual traditions have taught for centuries: everything is energy. Our thoughts affect our bodies. Stress changes the nervous system. Fear impacts healing. Intention matters. Human b...
